What is Kratom Extract?

Dosage, Effects, Uses, 15x, 50x, UEI

What is Kratom Extract?

Kratom extract is a more concentrated form of kratom, which results in a more potent blend that’s denser in the alkaloids which are the active ingredients in kratom.

What is Kratom Extract Used For?

Kratom, formally known as mitragyna speciosa, is the name of a tree that’s found in Indonesia, Thailand and other areas of southeast Asia. Native cultures have used kratom leaves for many years, kratom extract is used for treating a range of different conditions and ailments, including pain, anxiety and digestive upset.

Kratom is comprised of many different compounds, including several alkaloids, such as mitragynine, mitraphylline and 7-hydroxymitragynine.

Kratom extract contains a much higher concentration of alkaloids, which means that a the user can ingest a smaller amount in order to achieve the desired effect. Kratom extract can be ingested as a powder, brewed into tea, packed into capsules or blended with kratom leaf powder to create an enriched or enhanced variety of kratom.

How is Kratom Extract Made?

There are several forms of kratom extract, including:
  • Powder Liquid
  • Tinctures
  • Oils
  • Resin
All forms of kratom extract start out as finely crushed and dried kratom leaves, which are mixed with water and boiled to extract the alkaloids which are responsible for producing the effects in kratom users.
Once the alkaloids are extracted from the leaves, the leaves are strained out and only the water remains. The water is then boiled off to leave a highly concentrated extract solution, which is measured in terms of its concentration relative to the raw leaves. Therefore, an extract marked as x50 is 50 times more concentrated and 3-5 times more potent than the raw leaves that were utilized to create the extract. This means that you can utilize a corresponding fraction to achieve the same effects. So if you have x50 extract, just 1 gram is required to achieve the desired effect.
The solution may be sold as-is as a liquid kratom extract. It can be created with oil too, resulting in kratom oil.
The solution may be left to harden, resulting in kratom resin. The resin can also be ground up into a powder form and sold as powdered kratom extract. Tinctures are created by using a type of alcohol as the basis of the extract.
Kratom powder extract can also be packaged into capsules, which are easier to ingest than raw powder, which must be blended with something palatable such as apple sauce. Kratom tea can also be created from the powder.
When buying kratom extracts, it’s important to consider not only the concentration, but also the variety as each kratom variety is unique in terms of the effects that it produces. So while one form may be great at delivering pain relief and relaxation, another variety may be more effective at creating a feeling of euphoria and energy.

What is Kratom? Where can I purchase it in Maryland?

The statements below have not been evaluated by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
Information regarding the use of kratom in folk medicine is provided for education purposes only, it is not intended as medical advice.

BOTANICAL CLASSIFICATION
Family :     Rubiaciae
Genus :      Mitragyna
Species :    Speciosa
COMMON NAMES
Kratom; Ketum; Kakuam; Ithang; Thom; Mambog

What is kratom?

Kratom is a tree native to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar [Burma], and elsewhere). Its botanical name is Mitragyna speciosa. Kratom is in the same family as the coffee tree (Rubiaceae). Mitragyna speciosa is a leafy tree that grows from 3-20 meters tall. Its leaves contain 7-Hydroxymitragynine and mitragynine. The leaves are chewed as an opiate substitute and stimulant in Thailand and South-East Asia, primarily among the working class. The leaves of kratom have been used as an herbal drug from time immemorial by peoples of Southeast Asia. It is used in folk medicine as a stimulant (at low doses), sedative (at high doses), recreational drug, pain killer, medicine for diarrhea, and treatment for opiate addiction. It has a relatively long history of human use.

Difference between kratom strains

There are several types of kratom available, and new strains seem to appear on the market frequently. However, in reality these are often commercial Thai or Malaysian types, sold under a different name.
Responsible for the difference in effects are genetic differences, causing a change in indole and alkaloid formation.

Bali: Users report that Bali kratom becomes narcotic and very relaxating at higher doses, while it allows for a more stimulating effect when low doses are ingested.
Thai: Thai kratom effects are said to be the longest lasting, and most sedating of all kratom strains. Nowadays commercial available Thai kratom is grown in countries other than Thailand, as it was banned some years ago. A normal dose of Thai kratom contains 3-5 grams.
Malaysia: Malaysian kratom is reported to be almost identical to kratom originating from Bali.
Maeng Da: (Thai) Maeng Da kratom is translated as ‘pimp grade’ kratom and originates from Thailand. It is the strongest kratom strain available today. According to users, Maeng Da is less euphorizing than other strains, but it is praised for its energizing effects. Critics say it is more jittery than other Premium Thai strains, and argue it is not as long lasting. The active dose is 1-2 grams. High quality Maeng Da is very green in color.

How is it taken?

In Thailand, kratom leaves are often chewed fresh (usually after removing the stringy central vein). Dried leaves can also be chewed, but since they are a bit tough, most people prefer to crush them up or powder them so that they can be swallowed. Powdered kratom can be mixed with fruit juice or apple sauce. This partially masks the taste and allows it to be quickly swallowed. Dried kratom leaves are often made into a tea that is strained and then drunk (this is the most frequently used method in the West). Kratom can be smoked, but doing so has no advantage over chewing or making a tea from it. The amount of leaf that constitutes a typical dose is too much to be smoked easily. A paste-like extract can be prepared by lengthy boiling of fresh or dried leaves. This can be stored for later use. Small pellets of this extract can be swallowed, or it can be dissolved in hot water and consumed as a tea. Some people like to mix kratom tea with ordinary black tea, or other herbal teas, before it is consumed. This is done to make it more palatable. Sugar or honey can be added to sweeten it.

There are many Kratom strains from varied geographical locations for example, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Each location produces exceptional Kratom however there are many varieties and each one has its own and unique effects. What is more relevant to the kratom effects is the vein color which many people forget to take into account

How To Take Kratom With Food Or Drink

There are two factors most people have to overcome when ingesting kratom – the taste, which may be too bitter for most palettes, and the amount of powder that must be consumed. Getting down even a tablespoon of very dry powder can be awkward, so many people opt to use food and drink to help them do it.

Beverages:

The most popular and some say best way to use kratom is by mixing it with orange juice and drinking. The sweetness of the juice goes a long way in masking the taste. Some prefer grapefruit juice to mask the flavor with a more acceptable form of bitterness. You can also mix the powder into a smoothie, or even a virgin Bloody Mary.

How does one make kratom tea?

Following is a basic recipe for making kratom tea. This recipe makes enough tea for 8 to 16 mild doses, 4 medium-strength doses, or two moderately strong doses (see "dosage guidelines" below):
1.) Take 50 grams of dried, crushed kratom leaves and put into a pot. To this add 1 liter of water.
2.) Boil gently for 15 minutes.
3.) Pour the tea through a strainer into a bowl and reserve the liquid.
(squeeze the leaves in the strainer to get most of the liquid out).
4.) Put the leaves back in the pot and add another liter of fresh water. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
(after the leaves have been strained a second time, they can be discarded.)
5.) Put the combined liquid from both boilings back into the pot and boil until the volume is reduced to about 100 ml.
(The idea is to boil the tea down to a small volume so that each individual dose can be quickly swallowed.
You can boil it down to whatever concentration you are comfortable with. Be careful near the end of the process.

If it starts to become syrupy, it may spatter and/or burn.)
The tea is bitter tasting. To minimize the unpleasant taste, gulp it down quickly and then immediately chase it with some pleasant-tasting fruit juice.
The same general preparation method can of course be used with larger or smaller amounts of herb by simply adjusting the volume of water used. Kratom tea can be safely stored in the refrigerator for about five days. It is probably okay to keep it a bit longer, but it's better to play it safe and not drink it after five days. It can be stored for many months if you add some alcohol to it. Adding about 10% alcohol will preserve it for many months (in the refrigerator). That is one part 80 proof liquor (vodka, rum, or a similar spirit) to three parts kratom tea.

What are the effects?

Kratom is a rather unique drug in that a low to moderate dose will usually (but not always) be stimulating, while a high dose is almost always quite sedating. This is apparently because the active alkaloids have both stimulant and sedative effects. Which predominates probably depends both on blood level and individual differences between users.

The stimulant level: At the stimulant level the mind is more alert, physical energy and sometimes sexual energy is increased, ability to do hard monotonous physical work may be improved, one is more talkative, friendly, and sociable. Some people find this level edgy rather than pleasant.

The sedative-euphoric-analgesic level: At this dosage you will be less sensitive to physical or emotional pain, feel and look calm, have a general feeling of comfortable pleasure, and may enter a pleasant dreamy reverie. You may experience some itching or sweating. Your pupils may be constricted (small). It is possible you may feel nauseated, but if you lie down and relax the nausea should quickly cease. You may find your appreciation of music is increased. It will be very pleasant to lie down on your back in a semi-darkened room, with eyes closed, and just listen to your favorite music. If you do this you may be fortunate enough to enter the delightful mixed-state of ‘waking-dreaming’ where you have one foot in dreamland and the other foot in the real world. This state was much prized by the 19th century Romantic writers, who, lacking knowledge of kratom, resorted to the much more habit-forming narcotic, opium, to achieve it. The effects of kratom usually last about six hours. The higher the dose, the stronger the effects, and the longer they last. Many people report a positive ‘afterglow’ the next day.

What effects are associated with different doses? (dosage guidelines)

2-6 grams = mild effects (typically the effects are stimulant-like)
7-15 grams = medium strength effects (the effects can be stimulant-like or sedative-euphoric-analgesic)
16-25 grams = strong effects (sedative-euphoric-analgesic effects; too strong for highly sensitive people)
26-50 grams = very strong effects (sedative-euphoric-analgesic effects; TOO STRONG FOR MOST PEOPLE)

Caution: These dosage guidelines apply to kratom leaves (not extracts). People vary in sensitivity to kratom, and different batches of kratom vary in potency (sometimes quite a lot), so these dosage estimates should be regarded as loose approximations. One should always start with a low dose when experimenting with a new batch of kratom. One can then increase the dose gradually with subsequent experiments until one obtains the desired level of effects. DO NOT take a strong, or very strong dose, the first time you are sampling a new batch of kratom. Most people experience nausea when using doses above 25 grams. Sensitive individuals may experience nausea at lower doses, but usually not at doses below 10 grams. For this reason, it is best to take kratom on an empty stomach when using strong doses (i.e. wait about 3 hours after eating). Some people are hypersensitive to kratom, and may expereince adverse reactions (such as severe and prolonged vomiting) when using strong doses.

Effects and results of kratom use include:
-Relaxation at higher doses
-Stimulation at lower doses
-Motivation
-Sense of well-being
-Euphoria
-Promotes Health
-Sexual Enhancer
-More friendly
-More talkative
-Pain relief
-Help for stress
-Help with anxiety
-Help with depression
-Help with chronic pain
-Help with opiate withdrawals
-Help with muscle and body aches
-Help for insomnia
-Help for chills and shakes
-Help for cravings
-Help for restlessness
-Help for Focusing

What are the risks? How safe is it?

When kratom is taken by itself (without mixing it with other drugs), the greatest risk is falling asleep while engaged in hazardous activities. NEVER drive while under the influence of kratom, even if you feel stimulated, rather than sleepy, for sleepiness may come on you without warning. Use common sense. Do not use power tools or climb ladders while under the influence of kratom. Be careful not to leave a pot on a lit stove and then fall asleep.

Pregnant women should not take any drug or medication except on medical advice. Since there have been no studies of the risks of kratom use by pregnant women, it is not known whether it could cause birth defects or fetal death. We strongly recommend that any woman who could possibly be pregnant NOT use kratom.

Is kratom habit forming?

Although a small number of people have become dependent on kratom (primarily in Thailand), kratom is not habit forming at all when it is used responsibly. If used occasionally as a recreational drug, rather than daily, there is virtually no risk of becoming dependent on it.

Is Kratom For You

Now that we have cleared up the question of is kratom safe to use, you should see that just like anything else that is enjoyable in life, it should be taken in moderation. The important things to keep in mind are to:

  • Always follow the recommended daily dosage.
  • Develop an understanding of how much is enough for your particular needs.
  • Start off with a low dosage and work your way up.

What are safe usage guidelines?

It is best to err on the side of caution. Therefore, we recommend that people not use Kratom more than once a week. Preferably, no more than once or twice a month. This will insure that Kratom does not become a habit. In other words, kratom should be reserved as a special, but OCCASIONAL treat. By using it infrequently, you will avoid habituation and get more pleasure from it.

Are there any reported health problems?

Health problems are unlikely unless one is consuming large quantities of kratom every day. In Thailand, where there are some people who use kratom every day, those dependent on it can develop weight loss, dark pigmentation of the face, and have physical withdrawal symptoms if they quit abruptly. The withdrawal symptoms may include muscle aches, irritability, crying, runny nose, diarrhea, and muscle jerking. Health problems are unlikely to occur in occasional kratom users. Like any drug or medicine, people's reactions vary and some people could possibly have an allergic or other unusual reaction to kratom, even if they used it responsibly.

Can kratom be combined safely with other substances?

In general, combining drugs can be risky. We recommend that kratom not be combined with yohimbine, cocaine, amphetamine-like drugs, or large doses of caffeine, because of the possibility of over-stimulation or increased blood pressure. We recommend that kratom not be combined with large amounts of alcohol, with benzodiazepines, opiates (other than possible use with red poppy tea—see below), or any other drugs that depress the nervous system. This is because of the possibility that such combinations might cause over-sedation or even possible respiratory depression (not breathing), We recommended that kratom not be combined with Syrian rue, Banesteriopsis caapi, or any other MAO inhibitor drug. Serious, even fatal, reactions can occur if MAO inhibitor drugs are combined with monoamine drugs. The combination of MAO inhibitor drugs with kratom, which contains monoamine alkaloids, has not been studied.

Certain combinations have been reported by users to be pleasant and supposedly safe. Kratom can certainly be combined with ordinary tea without risk. It has been used with a tea made from red poppy flowers (Papaver rhoeas), which itself has an extremely mild narcotic effect, and with a sedating-euphoriant tea made from ‘blue lotus’ (Nymphaea caerulea). It has been safely combined with SMALL quantities of alcohol, however large quantities of alcohol must be avoided. Some people report they like to smoke tobacco or cannabis while under the influence of kratom. But anyone smoking under the influence of kratom must be very careful not to nod off and drop lit smoking materials.

What is kratom's legal status?

Kratom is illegal in Australia, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), and Thailand (these countries impose sever penalties for possession of the herb). It is legal in most other countries, including the United States and all of Europe. Laws can and do change, so be sure that kratom is legal where you live before using it.

What are kratom's active constituents?

There are many closely-related tryptamine alkaloids in kratom. The most important ones are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. These are primarily responsible for kratom’s pain relieving, sedative, euphoric, and stimulating effects. These alkaloids resemble yohimbine in structure, but do not have the same effects.

Where can kratom be purchased?

Ordering kratom online can be quiet a difficult process if you opt for an inferior and less known source. With so many scam operating online each and every day it becomes too difficult to find a trusting source since after you loose so much of your hard-earned money! However at Pars Market we only carry the highest quality, Freshest and well known brands at the lowest prices even cheaper than online website which charge you shipping or send you old and stale products.  and also Beware of misleading labels and marketing hype. It is important to find a trustworthy source. There have been problems with some vendors selling bogus "kratom" (misrepresenting other herbs as kratom) or adulterating kratom with other herbs. At Pars Market we carry full line and wide variety of all kratoms such as: Indo, Vietnam, Maeng Da, Thai, Bali and many more in form of Powders, Capsules

The best guide to smoke your Hookah at Pars Market in Columbia Maryland 21045

If you’re just tuning in to Romancing The Smoke, this is a blog following my journey to becoming a hookah know-it-all. If you’re also a beginner, or a pro who wants to offer some advice, then I hope you’ll follow along!

This guide will tell you everything you need to take into consideration when buying a hookah in addition to our previous posts about this subject. For a novice hookah smoker, it may be unclear how to choose the right hookah. There are many factors to take into consideration including the origin of the hookah, materials, height, multiple hose options, and price. The shop you are going to purchase your hookah from. This guide will also tell you what to look for when you're inspecting a hookah in person. All of this information is combined to help you make the most informed decision when you make your purchase.

Origin of the Hookah

Modern hookahs are typically manufactured in China by companies based in the United States and elsewhere. Traditional hookahs come from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Iran and other countries in the Middle East and along the Mediterranean. Modern hookahs are made on assembly lines with modern manufacturing techniques while most traditional hookahs are made by hand. Distinguishing a modern hookah from a traditional hookah is fairly easy to do. The distinguishable factors include construction, styling, and performance.

Mini Hookah 2 Hose at Pars Market in Howard County Columbia Maryland 21045
Mini Hookah
In general, modern hookahs are constructed with lighter weight material and no visible weld lines. They are commonly composed of threaded components that are screwed together, which can also be easily unscrewed to fit into carrying cases. Some of the higher end modern hookahs have better finish work than traditional hookahs, because they mix chromium into the final plating stage.
Traditional hookahs are generally larger and constructed with heavier metals. They also tend to use combinations of metals, such as stainless steel with copper and brass. Modern hookahs typically use mostly stainless steel and may mix in other elements for the finish. The best traditional hookahs use brass around critical points, such as the hose port and check valve. The major advantages of using brass in these points comes from the brazing process in which the brass combines with the steel. The brazing process adds a lot of strength to these weld points. The weld points are usually highly visible on traditional hookahs and some hookah buyers are surprised or disappointed to see a new hookah that appears so unfinished. However, other hookah buyers love this aspect to traditional hookahs; they feel like they own a unique hand-made antiquity.

Egyptian Traditional Hookah at Pars Market Columbia Maryland 21045

Some modern hookahs have come out with improved designs. One of the innovations is an improved check valve system on multiple hose models. These check release valves are designed with ball bearings inside them. The result is a multiple hose hookah that can be smoked without the need to plug every hose that is not in use, a cumbersome issue with traditional hookahs and some modern hookahs still today. Many modern hookahs are screwed on at the vase. This makes it easy to pop your stem off to refill the vase with water and back on with an air-tight seal. The only drawback is that the metal threaded fittings can come off easily if they were applied to the glass with an inexpensive glue. However, this is not usually a problem with higher end modern hookahs.
The head or bowl on modern hookahs is generally made with ceramic rather than the clay that is used for traditional hookah bowls. The difference is that ceramic doesn't conduct heat as well, resulting in a lower quality smoking experience. Even distribution of heat means less burning of tobacco and less rearranging of coals. It also lengthens the duration of the smoking session, since the flavor doesn't get diminished by harsh smoke.

All Kinds of Hookah Bowls
Modern hookahs encompass a range of products including animal hookahs, hookahs that have ceramic sculptures on them, inlaid cloisonne designs, and plain stainless steel models. Whatever the style might be, modern hookahs tend to have more current or futuristic designs on the stem and vase.

Multiple Hose Modern Hookah at Pars Market Columbia Maryland 21045

As the name implies, traditional hookahs appear more traditional. They have lines that suggest hundreds of years of history. Traditional hookahs do differ a bit from region to region and it is difficult to make all-inclusive remarks about their makeup. Whatever the region may be, there will most likely be patterns or designs unique to the history of that region incorporated into the design of the hookah.
Traditional hookah manufacturers have been honing their designs for many generations. In terms of performance, traditional hookahs tend to smoke better than modern hookahs. There are many exceptions, but traditional hookahs typically use one central tube that runs the full length of the stem. The hose and purge valve line are typically one tube as well. The tubing used in traditional hookahs tend to be wider gauge than what is used on modern hookahs. The result of this manufacturing means less restriction and easier smoke draw.

Materials

Some hookah connoisseurs argue that solid brass pipes are the best. They are the heaviest, most solid pipes, and last forever. While they do oxidize, they never corrode. The problem with brass pipes is that they require polishing on a regular basis to maintain their luster and shine. Other people prefer combinations of stainless steel with brass or copper. There are issues with stainless steel though. For one, there are few manufacturers out there that use good quality stainless steel such as Aladdin and Mya Hookah, Usually, a low quality stainless steel is used then electroplated only on the exterior with nickel. The inside remains vulnerable to corrosion and rusting. Even highly regarded manufacturers produce hookahs in this way. Modern hookah manufacturers tend to be more thorough; most electroplate the interior and exterior.

Height

Choosing the right height for a hookah is for the most part a matter of preference. Experienced hookah smokers gravitate toward hookahs between 28 inches and 32 inches. This range of height is the happy medium of performance and ease of handling. However, someone that intends to camp or travel a lot might prefer a smaller hookah. Conversely, someone who intends to smoke on his outdoor patio, may want a really tall hookah that can be placed on the floor next to a high table.
Small 10" height single hose Hookah at Pars Market Columbia, MD 21045
Small 10" height single hose Hookah
Height does play some role in performance. A larger vase and stem will hold more smoke and produce more smoke upon inhaling. This doesn't mean that small hookahs don't smoke well. There are plenty of small hookahs that smoke extremely well which found at Pars Market and our Hookah prices start at only $16.99

 Multiple Hose Options

Don't those four hose hookahs look amazing? They look like they would be perfect for a party. Despite the looks, multiple hose hookahs are not all they're cracked up to be. The more hoses, the more the performance goes down and the more cumbersome the hookah is to smoke. The reason they are so unmanageable is because every person that has a hose in hand has to plug their tip when they're not smoking. If one hose tip isn't plugged, the person who is smoking can't get enough suction to pull out the smoke.

Large Egyptian 4 hose Hookah at Pars Market Columbia Maryland 21045
Large Egyptian 4 hose Hookah at Pars Market
Luckily, the multiple hose woes can be overcome. Most traditional multiple hose hookahs do come with rubber stoppers, which make it easy to convert back down to a one hose which available and sold at Pars Market for any size Hookah you may have. You can also opt for a modern hookah with a built in check valve system which comes as standard option in Hookahs at Pars Market, which is much more manageable. Furthermore, there is no denying the appeal of pulling out a two, three, or four hose hookah when entertaining big groups. They do bring excitement to the party, Family and Friends.

Price

The old adage, "You get what you pay for", is even true for the hookah industry. If you are buying a hookah in the U.S. that is under $30, chances are it's going to be pretty junky. If you spend over $100 on a hookah, chances are you're going to get something descent that will last you. That being said, many traditional style hookahs can be pretty pricey and fall short of expectations, which is mostly due to the visible weld lines and imperfect finishing work.
Popular name brand hookahs will always be 10 - 15% more than equally good hookahs that have no name recognition. Generally, this price hike is worth it to get a hookah you can be sure you'll be happy with.

5 Leading Benefits Electronic Smoking Has Over Traditional Cigarettes written by Pars Market in Columbia Maryland 21045

5 Leading Benefits Electronic Smoking Has Over Traditional Cigarettes

In order for someone to switch brands or consider alternatives, they need to clearly see the benefits of the new approach. E-cigarettes are no different.
Many, if not the vast majority of those interested in electronic smoking, are current smokers. Chances are you’re one of them – searching for an alternative but wanting to understand the benefits of switching from your current brand.
E-cigarettes are indeed an alternative to traditional cigarettes. They’re a suitable alternative for many because of the benefits they have over “smoking.”
We invite you to continue reading for 5 of the leading benefits electronic smoking has over traditional cigarettes…these benefits were discovered from customer feedback as well as numerous scientific studies examining both traditional and e-cigarettes.

We carry great selection of E-Cigarettes at pars Market in Columbia Maryland 21045
We carry great selection of E-Cigarettes

Reason #1 – E-cigarettes do NOT have that distinctive odor

Just about anyone knows – cigarettes smell!! It’s their hallmark.
Scent from cigarette smoke gets into, and clings, to just about anything it comes in contact with – hair, clothes, your car – anything. Not only does the odor cling, many consider cigarette smell offensive and avoid close contact. If you’re a smoker, you don’t notice it so much since you’re immersed in it all of the time. To non-smokers, and especially ex-smokers, this smell is very noticeable.
One reason cigarette smoke smells so bad is because you’re burning tar and chemicals in addition to the tobacco itself. Properties from burning these substances make them cling to clothing, hair, walls, furniture, etc.
E-cigarettes on the other hand do not have this ominous odor because instead of exhaling smoke, you’re exhaling a vapor that evaporates almost immediately. Customers and non-smokers/vapers report the smell from an e-cigarette to be either nonexistent or reminiscent of cotton candy or even pop tarts!!
Whatever it is, e-cigarettes certainly smell a whole lot better than traditional cigarettes.

Reason #2 – Electronic smoking is MUCH cheaper than traditional cigarettes

If you’re a smoker reading this, you can certainly relate to this point – cigarettes are expensive these days.
In 1980, you could buy a good quality pack of cigarettes for $1. By the 90s, the cost had risen to $2, on average. Today, a good quality pack of cigarettes will cost you anywhere from $7 to $12 depending on which state you’re in.
Some of this increase in cost can be attributed to regular inflation or rising prices of production (tobacco) and even distribution (fuel).
Taxes however play a big role too. In 2009 for example, the federal tax was raised from $0.39 to $1.01 per pack. Add state taxes, which vary, and taxes end being around 20% of the cost of a pack of traditional cigarettes.
Between all of this, a pack-a-day smoker can spend upwards of $300 each month! And this doesn’t include the cost of other incidentals such as lighters, ash trays and much more.
E-cigarettes do not share this dilemma. While some of the entry costs of a starter kit may be a little bit higher, the month-to-month cost of electronic smoking is typically about half when compared to traditional cigarettes. Cartomizers and batteries constitute the bulk of this expense, which can range anywhere between $20 and $40 depending on how much you vape.
Currently, e-cigarettes are not subject to any sort of taxes like traditional smokes are. Also, as the technology develops and becomes more mainstream, the cost will continue to decline (…think cell phones, DVD players, etc.).

Reason #3 – E-cigarettes are much safer

Since you’re “burning” tobacco, not to mention using an open flame to light it, traditional cigarettes by default pose serious fire hazards. Cigarettes are in fact the #1 cause of fire-related death in the United States and 7 other countries. Worldwide, fires started by lit cigarettes constitute 10% of all fire-related deaths.
With e-cigarettes, you’re not burning an open flame and don’t have a hot cherry that can burn you, your clothes, your furniture, and so on.
There was an incident where an e-cigarette exploded in the user’s face in early 2012. It was determined though that the particular unit the person was using was a “mod,” which is a way vapers can alter their devices for more power that involves stacking the batteries. When used as intended, there have been no reports of an e-cigarette exploding.

Reason #4 – Health

While we can’t make the claim that e-cigarettes are healthier, we can point out how traditional cigarettes are harmful to your health.
You don’t have to take our word for it – there are countless studies out there showing how smoking traditional cigarettes can put you at a higher risk of a whole host of conditions, including (but not limited to) – stroke, heart attack, lung cancer, throat cancer, pneumonia, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, and countless others.
Traditional cigarettes contain a litany of chemicals as well, many of which are considered carcinogenic, or cancer causing.
Many of our customers have reported feeling better physically after switching to electronic smoking.

Reason #5 – Social

Last but not least are the social impacts of traditional cigarettes, which is in a way related to reasons one through four. Over the years, smoking has increasingly been viewed negatively by society at-large for a variety of reasons.
The smell, the health consequences, and even the healthcare costs all combine to give traditional cigarettes a bad name these days. If you’re a smoker, you’ve certainly noticed an increasing amount of restrictions around where you can light up, even at private parties where the host is a nonsmoker.
Also, traditional cigarettes can have impacts on your social life, literally. Take dating for an example - it’s pretty rare for a nonsmoker to be with a smoker. Also, smoking can also impact job prospects since more employers are taking a more critical eye toward traditional cigarettes.
As you can see, e-cigarettes and electronic smoking carry many benefits over traditional smoking. Many have discovered how they can still enjoy smoking and get the nicotine they crave without using methods that are increasingly seen as intrusive and irresponsible.

How to Clean a Washable Hose with All Natural Lemon Juice

Cleaning a Washable Hose with Lemon Juice

Cleaning a washable hookah hose should usually involve nothing more than some water and some time. But, sometimes there is a flavor that absolutely refuses to leave and you need to break out the proton packs. There are a few different ways to bust that ghost, but one of the most popular is the lemon juice method. It’s really as simple as it seems.
Firstly, get some good lemon juice. You don’t need to juice your own, but the fresher the better and you don’t want to use anything with added sugar. Remember that sugar is food for microbes and one of the sure ways to kill a washable hose is to let it get moldy.

All you need to do is pour a little lemon juice in your hose and swish it around to make sure that every internal surface is covered. Then you let that sit for ten minutes in a way that the lemon juice won’t fall out and swish it around again. After another ten minutes it is time to rinse it all out.

From here you just follow your usual washing routine with clean water. The acid will have eaten through any build up on the inside of the hose a bit and loosened up the flavor particles that got left behind. Really pervasive flavors may still hang around a bit, but that should be covered up by the flavor of light lemon. For ghost of that power level there is nothing left to do beyond letting it fade naturally and smoking flavors that will overpower it.

Either you are looking for great quality Lemon juice or Hookah hose we have them all for you and many more accessories and items at Pars Market in Columbia, MD.
